Georgian Coat of Arms

Hi, Steschke. I replaced all the references to the local version of the Gerogian Coat of Arms image to the one in Commons. Thanks for your notice. Although, I verified in the Commons version that they say this image should be used instead but it is different from the others. Do you know if this is the correct one?

I guess we could use it as a primary reference, although I remember a year ago there was a discussion (in official circles in Tbilisi) that it lacked some properties of official heraldics (a ribbon had to be extended over to comply with some standards, but I left Tbilisi since then and don't know if it ever materialized.

I need advice from an experienced admin. There is a discussion on a proposed new mainpage on the ახალი თავფურცელი (the link to a test page is ვიკიპედია:ახალი თავფურცელი. Georgian Coat of Arms

Hallo, Steschke - die offizielle Seite fuer das Wappen ist [1] - auf beiden Seiten dss Bandes, wo text steht muß ein Kreuz sein. Das bedeutet unser Administrator Avtandil hat es richtig gemacht auf unserer Hauptseite. Zangala 20:10, 25 ივნისი 2006 (UTC)

Es ist schon erstaunlich, dass der Präsident ein anderes Wappen auf seiner Seite hat, als die Regierung. Hat das eine Bedeutung? Nach der englischen Beschreibung ist für mich nichts zu erkennen. Auf der Webseite des Präsidenten ist auf dem Foto im Hintergrund das korrekte Wappen - nur in der Grafik am Seitenanfang die Webseite des Präsidenten noch das alte. Auf http://www.parliament.ge/ - ist auch in der Grafik am Seitenanfang noch das alte Wappen. Vielen dank das Sie auf commons die nötigen Daten nachzutragen.

Do you need articles about Wekipedia in Georgian or Russian? For general online news, the best website is http://civil.ge/ (in three languages). I'm not sure if I know of any articles ab. wiki in Georgian, but there was one very good article in the New Yorker magazine last week (http://www.newyorker.com/archive/), check this as well for georgian pop-culture - http://internet.ge/. if I misunderstood your request, let me know, I'll look for more sources. best. - ალ-ო (გ) 12:40, 7 აგვისტო 2006 (UTC)

Got you. this has some useful info as well: დახმარება:რა არ არის ვიკიპედია (Wikipedia what is not). This ვიკიპედია:კეთილი იყოს თქვენი მობრძანება is a welcome page (very short) but has some info on how georgian wiki progressed in its first few months. And this is a FAQ page - დახმარება:ხშირი შეკითხვები. Will look for more pages that could be useful for a journal article. I very much appreciate that you're doing this.
