მენჰირი — ყველაზე მარტივი მეგალითური ნაგებობა. წარმოადგენს ვერტიკალურად მდგარ ლოდს, რომლის სიმაღლე ზოგჯერ 20 მეტრს აღწევს. მენჰირის დანიშნულება ჯერჯერობით დადგენილი არ არის, თუმცა ზოგიერთი არქეოლოგის აზრით ისინი დაკრძალვის რიტუალთან იყვნენ დაკავშირებულნი. ასევე არსებობს მოსაზრება, რომ ეს ლოდები დადგმული იქნა რაღაც მნიშვნელოვან თარიღთან დაკავშირებით, ან როგორც სასაზღვრო ნიშანი.
გავრცელებულია ჩრდილო-დასავლეთ ევროპაში, გვხვდება აზიასა და აფრიკაში, ციმბირში და კავკასიაში.
