განას იმპერია (დაახ. 300 - 1200 წლები) — ცნობილია როგორც ავკარი, განა მისი მმართველის ტიტული იყო. მდებარეობდა დღევანდენი მავრიტანიის სამხრეთ-აღმოსავლეთ და მალის დასავლეთ ნაწილში. მისი ეკონომიკა აწყობილი იყო ოქროთი და მარილით ტრანსსაჰარულ ვაჭრობაზე.[1] იმპერია აკონტროლებდა სხვა და სხვა სავაჭრო გზებს.
განას იმპერია პირველად 830 წელს მუჰამად ბენ მუსა ალ-ხვარაზმის ჩანაწერებშია მოხსენიებული.[2] XI საუკუნეში, კორდობელმა სწავლიულმა ალ-ბაკრიმ, მოგზაურთა მონაყოლების მიხედვით შეადგინა სამეფოს დეტალური აღწერა. მისი მტკიცებით, განას შეეძლო 200 000 ათასი მეომრის გამოყვანა რომელთაგანაც 40 000 მშვილდოსანი იქნებოდა და მათ ასევე ცხენოსანი ჯარიც ყავდათ.[3]
საბოლოოდ განას XIII საუკუნეში გახდა მალის იმპერიის ვასალი. როდესაც 1957 წელს ოქროს სანაპირომ ბრიტანეთისგან დამოუკიდებლობა მიიღო მან სახელად აიღო განა, რადგან ითვლებოდა, რომ განას იმპერიის ხალხი სონინკები ამ ტერიტორიაზე მიგრირდნენ.
